My name is Álvaro. I'm a creature & fantasy artist living in Spain. I started crating ooak fantasy sculptures under the name of Fuego Fatuo in late 2009. Since I was a child I've loved everything related with fantasy, magic and weird creatures. I used to draw until I discovered sculpture as a tool to bring my characters to a more realistic dimension.

My work is mainly inspired by folklore, legends, fantasy, nature and the influence of the work of talented artists such as Brian & Wendy Froud, Alan Lee, Tony DiTerlizzy or Jean-Baptiste Monge among many others. When I create, I try to give a naturalistic view of the supernatural beings I make, to make real the unreal.

At this moment I'm finishing my Art studies at Barcelona's University (UB) while working in my first book, titled "El Cuaderno Crepuscular" (The Twilight Notebook), a fantasy co-production with Spanish illustrator Raúl Guerra, which will be hopefully published at some time in the future between now and the end of the world (which seems to have been put off after 2012).
