The Gnome of Girona refers to a case occured in September 1989 in Girona (Spain), in the road between Banyoles and Olot, where a strange animal was allegedly caught alive by local hikers, although it died within the following 24 hours.

The body was studied both by biologists as parapsychologists without reaching a clear conclusion, since opinions between them were quite opposite. Finally the creature was sent for analysis to the United States, where its track was lost.

The case caught the attention of the media and aroused excitement and controversy, but today few remember it. More information in:

El llamado Gnomo de Gerona hace referencia a un caso acontecido en septiembre de 1989 en Gerona, entre los municipios de Banyoles y Olot, donde un extraño animal fue supuestamente capturado vivo por unos excursionistas locales, para morir a las 24 horas.

El cuerpo fue entregado y estudiado tanto por biólogos y médicos como por parapsicólogos, sin llegar a una conclusión clara, pues las opiniones entre unos y otros eran bastante dispares. Finalmente la criatura fue enviada a analizar a Estados Unidos, donde se le perdió la pista.

En su momento el caso despertó el interés de los medios de comunicación y despertó bastante expectación y polémica, aunque a día de hoy pocos lo recuerdan.

Sí, es una leyenda urbana de un bicho que encontraron en 1988, si no recuerdo mal. Quizá la conozcas :)

Parece ser que al final sólo era un feto abortado de vaca, pero he querido reinterpretarlo ^^
